20 Most Anticipated Video Games Still Coming In 2017
13. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Release Date: 27th October
On the other side of the serious, respectful war shooter spectrum is Wolfenstein II; Machinegames' alternate history followup that looks at what America would've evolved into, had it been under Nazi reign.
Think Amazon's The Man in the High Castle, but with the ability to wield twin chainguns, and with a way better script. The revamped BJ Blazkowicz is a more solemn beast than the Schwarzenegger-esque meathead he first represented in the olden days; a revamped portrayal of a man bred for war, yet forever haunted and limited by it.
All of which isn't to say that Wolfenstein isn't about blowing up Nazi machinery while laughing like a maniac, but there's a really effective script at the core of these games that honestly makes them some of the shiniest gems of this generation.
