8. The Blue Shell (Mario Kart)
You knew that this damn thing was going to be on this list somewhere. The only reason it's this low is because Nintendo have FINALLY given players a means of counteracting this actual worst nightmare of any Mario Kart player.
The blue shell is the guy at the back of the race's way of making sure the one in front isn't having too much fun. It homes in on you, and if you don't have the right item to counteract it, you're pretty much doomed, as it will blast you to oblivion, flipping you around and leaving you paralyzed for a damning few seconds. Which in Mario Kart, is more than enough time for the rest of the race to zip by you, win the race 3 times over, and watch the entire Godfather trilogy.
Again, there IS a way to counter the blue shell after all these years, but that doesn't change the fact that the blue shell is the bane of Mario Kart players everywhere. And its might should be heeded, lest your foolishness cost you the race.
