20 Most Terrifying Enemies In Video Game History
8. The Falling Woman - Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly
Honestly, I could fill this entire article with Fatal Frame ghosts if I wanted to as the series is so exceptional in the design department that there really isn't a bad apple in the bunch.
As it's impossible to fight Fatal Frame's enemies in the conventional sense, your only means of defense is the Camera Obscura which is used to exorcise spirits (it's not nearly as silly as it sounds). And trust me, you don't know the meaning of terror until you've attempted lining up the perfect shot while a pissed off poltergeist steadily closes the distance between you.
As tough of a choice as it was though, I had to go with the Falling Woman for this spot as, in terms of visuals/backstory, she's easily the most memorable.
Locked in an endless suicidal loop, the Falling Woman is a grotesque mass of twisted angles and bent limbs. Looking at her is enough to scare you witless, but you'll never forget the moment she starts scampering across the ground on broken limbs.
