10. Tomb Raider (2013)
For whatever reason, Crystal Dynamics' rebooted 'Raider just hasn't had the same impact as her cannon-chested original. Even Rise of the Tomb Raider - being one of 2015's finest Xbox One titles - couldn't catapult our favourite female adventurer back into the limelight, but if you were ever thinking of giving this new direction a shot, go back to the 2013 version.
Complimenting an excellently laid out map with a set of abilities that gradually get expanded upon, Metroidvania-style, there's a real sense of survival to Lara's shipwrecked story - one that takes you across some pretty varied levels with excellent combat encounters and set-pieces.
Gunplay itself feels meaty and tactile in a way that even Uncharted doesn't, and although many have criticised how much Lara gets carried away with axe-based finishers, it all helps you embody the mentality of someone struggling to make it to the next campfire.
