20 Most Underrated Video Games Of 2016
The best year so far this generation, but what's the cream of the crop?
It's taken three years, but the games industry finally back to firing on all cylinders. Sure, we've still got microtransactions, season passes and one hell of a sequel problem, but you need only take a look at the bonafide triple-A titles that have peppered each month from January to now, to see a sharp contrast with that of 2014 and 2015.
From Overwatch to DOOM, Uncharted 4 to Ratchet & Clank, chances are you could name a good 10 titles off the top of your head that would slip into a nice Game of the Year list - but what of those that didn't get as much exposure or wide recognition?
Let me know your own most underrated gems of 2016 in the comments below, and see if you agree with my 20 picks too.

20. Batman: The Telltale Series
By adding in the quintessential 'Batman ingredient' missing from the Arkham titles, Telltale have managed to deliver the perfect Batman experience in a manner you probably didn't see coming.
That being? Bruce Wayne.
Relegated to minor cutscene appearances or omitted entirely in past titles centred around The Dark Knight, Telltale put the false smiles and high-life of being a playboy billionaire right up there with donning the cape and cowl. In doing so, it grounds the idea of Batman as a character and as an entity, showing the immediate pros and cons of living the double life.
You'll shake hands as the innocent Bruce, before following up with a few bone-breaks as Bats, allowing for the unique sense of answering someone whilst keeping in mind what will transpire once you have access to a full array of gadgets.
Simply because of that - and with Telltale's scribes taking some major risks with the established Batman canon - this incarnation of the Bat is the most interesting in years.
