It's already been clearly established that GTA VI will feature an extensive map, including many enterable buildings. But why not go even further? Why not add explorable underwater segments too? Well, that's exactly what Rockstar has done, according to this rumour.
Like GTA V, the latest game will have swimming mechanics and underwater areas to be explored. There should be plenty to find down there, including hidden secrets and even sunken treasures. Additionally, it's clear from trailers, the proposed map from GTA VI Mapping, and the Florida-inspired setting that there will be multiple water fronts, including beaches and swamps, meaning there could even be unique underwater biomes.
On the topic of water, it's even rumoured that there will be a particularly gnarly mission where you take down a shark with a speargun. That must be revenge for all the times players were gobbled up when venturing out a little too far into the sea. There's likely to be a host of other aquatic missions as well, with the trailers focusing heavily on yachts, speed boats, jets, and even hovercrafts.
