Ever feel like you simply cannot score in Fifa? No matter how many shots you take, no matter how many easy chances you get, no matter how many fouls you suffer in the box... You're simply not able to get the ball in the back of the net. It happens to the best of us but a subset of the community has come up with a reason for this phenomenon and it's fair to say that it's causing quite the divide. Scripting is the idea that the game has predetermined a winner and so will prevent the loser from scoring goals and winning. There are various reasons as to why and how the game picks a winner but most revolve around the game giving the lesser skilled player a helping hand. Obviously there's no factual proof to this (EA have dismissed the idea repeatedly) but still, like those people that chase down UFO sightings, people still believe.
6. Fifa Rage
Fifa Rage is a real problem, people. If we don't start taking it seriously, it'll sweep the nation and destroy any future for our children. You see, Fifa can be an infuriating game. Conceded a last minute winner? Referee just sent off your player for no particular reason? Those are hard things to stomach. So naturally, you get angry. You might swear under your breath (or at the top of your voice). You might toss your controller away in disgust. If you make a living recording yourself for people's enjoyment on YouTube, you'll probably hurl your controller at the wall (or chair, in some bizarre cases) and flip out in huge, dramatic style. EA should really consider putting something in their Terms & Conditions about not suing over cases of Fifa Rage... It could be an epidemic soon.
