14. The Hour You Sit In A Dark Room, Quietly Fuming, Because The Board Have Gone Over Your Head

Your star midfielder has attracted the attention of a much bigger club. It's understandable, because he's brilliant. But you've sat him down, asked him what he thinks of the situation, and he's come clean and told you he wants to win trophies. You passionately sell him on you dream for the club and convince him, if he'll just give you another season to get everything order, that the club will be challenging for these honours he so desperately craves. He agrees, you shake hands, and relax in the knowledge that any bids that come in can be batted away without fear of upsetting him. In it comes, and you're greeted with the single most infuriating sentence in the entire English language: "The board have accepted this offer as they feel it is too good to turn down".
