In 2000, EA released SSX as a launch title for the PS2. It was a bombastic snowboarding game that saw players race down perilous courses while performing insane tricks to gain speed boosts. It received unanimous critical admiration and is often held as one of the best sports games of that console generation.

However, its sequel, SSX Tricky, would surpass its predecessor in every way. It had more game modes, characters, and tracks. Previous courses were also completely overhauled with fresh designs and the addition of shortcuts.

The gameplay, too, was better than ever. While the core mechanic still involved landing tricks to get more speed, players could now perform gravity-defying "Uber" tricks, which granted an infinite speed boost if players landed enough of them.

It's impossible to talk about SSX Tricky without mentioning its electrifying soundtrack. Featuring the likes of RUN-D.M.C.'s "It's Tricky," each exhilarating track was brimming with the effortlessly cool energy the game was channeling.

While this title's astronomic success spawned several sequels, diminishing sales saw the franchise fizzle out after 2012's SSX.

With snowboarding games relegated to gaming's past, bringing back SSX Tricky would be the way to revive this genre while giving fans the nostalgia hit they've been craving.
