20 Reasons 2016's Biggest Video Games Might Suck

3. Final Fantasy XV Is More Style-Over-Substance RPG Nonsense

Release Date: TBA The Hype: The first core single player Final Fantasy game since 2010 has been in development for approximately a decade under various names and forms, and apparently the visually stunning RPG will finally arrive on current-gen consoles this year. Apparently. Why It Might Suck: The more recent Final Fantasy games have sadly boasted more style than substance, praised for their splendid graphics but falling far short when it comes to character and plot. There's far too much anime bait in the newer entries, and even for the standards of this franchise, the more recent games have bordered on incoherence for much of their play time. Though Square Enix surely wouldn't dare repeat the widely-maligned 20-hour corridor of Final Fantasy XIII, there's still the prevailing feeling that the series' best days are long behind it, and so while we'll be there day one to find out for ourselves, we won't be expecting much more than a beautiful yet hollow 6/10 experience.
