20 Reasons 2016's Biggest Video Games Might Suck

2. The Last Guardian Can't Possibly Live Up To The Hype

Release Date: TBA The Hype: Team Ico (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus) originally began development on The Last Guardian in 2007, before the game was unveiled to the public in 2009 for a 2011 release. It's 2016 and the game still isn't out, development has shifted as many prominent team members have left Team Ico, and the game has moved from PS3 to PS4 for release this year...sometime. The actual gameplay sees the player controlling a young boy who befriends a strange, gigantic creature, and together the pair must navigate a series of puzzles to escape their dark assailants. Why It Might Suck: Again, this is just a case of way too much hype and the potential to under-deliver on it. Plus, with the developmental problems the game has had (which forced the shift to PS4), perhaps the game might feel a little dated or end up suffering from the same clunky control and frame-rate issues as the original version of Shadow of the Colossus (an admittedly fantastic game though it still was). And finally, maybe there just won't be enough to the gameplay to make it live up to Team Ico's prior successes.
