20 Reasons 2016's Biggest Video Games Might Suck

17. Mirror's Edge Catalyst Is Too Empty & Too Short

Release Date: May 24 The Hype: 2008's action platformer gets a long-gestating reboot rather than a sequel, returning to the series' parkour-driven roots while introducing an open-world that's apparently totally free of loading screens. Why It Might Suck: For one, the new Mirror's Edge has completely removed gunplay from the equation, which may be disappointing to some or result in a mechanically frustrating game if the close-quarters combat isn't up to scratch. More than anything, though, the general worry is that, like the first game, it may boast a solid foundation but not present enough to actually feel like a fully fleshed-out AAA game, and might also clock in at too brief a length to justify purchasing on launch. Basically, it could end up feeling like an indie you'd expect to pay £15-20 for.
