20 Reasons The Year's Biggest Video Games Might Suck
4. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Is Another Downgraded Ubisoft Flop
Release Date: TBA The Hype: After the long-gestating Rainbow 6: Patriots was cancelled last year, Ubisoft unveiled Siege, a new take on the series which will revolve primarily around tense multiplayer hostage situations, with players taking the role of either cop or criminal. Destructible environments are a huge part of the game, and if it lives up to that immense first E3 trailer, it could easily renew the flagging series' popularity. Why It Might Suck: Things are already looking a little grim for Siege, because recent gameplay footage released looks to have significantly downgraded graphics from the original E3 trailer. Though it's worth considering that the gameplay was from the game's alpha testing, the graphics look extremely rudimentary and are a very poor reflection of the sort of visuals gamers expect on current-gen tech. Also, journalists who have been able to play the game have heard practically nothing about the campaign yet, which already has them pretty suspicious that the game really isn't in good shape and could easily be pushed to 2016, or simply be released as a mess.
