20 Retro ‘Demakes’ That Totally Transform Your Favourite Video Games

5. Bioshock (PC/Build Engine Game)

When it came to shooters in the noughties, Bioshock really was the, errr, Daddy (sorry). The game's a real looker as well, and its unique art style has helped it overcome its graphical ageing to continue looking great even today.

But let's rewind back to the late 90s, when games like Duke Nukem 3D and Redneck Rampage (anyone remember that?) were the order of the day. In fact, this GIF from a demastered Bioshock by Neogaf member vio has serious echoes of the hillbilly shooter.

The way the Big Daddy is unnervingly constantly facing the player because of it being a 2D sprite is something all 90s FPS veterans can relate to.
