19 Things Video Game Fans Are SICK Of

15. Live Service Games

Fairgame$
Haven Studios

A couple of years ago, this would have been the number one entry on the list. Back then, it seemed like publishers were hellbent on pouring resources into an already overstuffed niche, resulting in a slew of reputation-shattering failures.

However, the tide has been turning in the past year or so. The live service rush has definitely slowed down, as fewer and fewer projects are being announced and even the old standard bearers have taken a hit. Destiny 2 almost went quietly into that good night before its fans brought it back, and the seemingly limitless financial doping machine that is Fortnite finally showed signs of breaking down at the start of this year.

Publishers finally seem to have woken up to the fact that gamers are sick to the back teeth of watching their favourite studios be force-marched into the charnel house that is live service gaming, with Sony's Fairgame$ being the only notable game of that ilk on the horizon (and even the most ardent PS5 fans want nothing to do with it).
