20 Things We Learned From Gamescom 2016
6. South Park Might Turn Into One Of The Best Games Of The Year
South Park's The Stick of Truth was a brilliant satire of the fantasy genre, although it was slightly hampered in gameplay terms by having repetitive mechanics and one particular buff (fart damage) that ended up making its second half a total cakewalk.
For the sequel, writers Matt Stone and Trey Parker are setting their sites squarely on the ongoing fascination we all have with superheroes. In particular, Marvel's Civil War arc, as you'll have to side with !*$% and his friends to fight the other kids.
At E3, the pair revealed that they've spruced up some of your special attacks to be more in-line with the group-thwarting abilities of a superhero, but just looking at the game in motion, it looks like this will be more of the same - which is a damn good thing, because Stick of Truth was already so achingly close to perfection.
