20 Things We Learned From Gamescom 2016
4. Titanfall 2 Is Already Better Than The Original
Did you manage to get hands on Titanfall 2 during its two day-long multiplayer test? Such a minimal amount of time with one of 2016's most exciting and important games was nowhere near enough, but thankfully now we have a good idea of how it feels to play.
Which is to say, perfectly.
Thanks to Respawn Entertainment having many ex-members of Infinity Ward putting it together, the feel of Titanfall 2 is lightning-quick, Call of Duty-style, but with a hugely increased sense of mobility that comes with an infinitely-usable grappling hook, wall-runs and contextual mech kills.
And that's before you get in your own hulking machine. Going from Spider-Man'ing your way across the battlefield to hopping in a mech and unleashing a chest-laser on an entire platoon of enemies is just sublime - easily making Titanfall 2 one of the most impressive and solid-playing FPS' of the year.
Respawn need a win with this, and next to Watch Dogs 2 also licking its wounds from 2014 and carrying on, should impress come October.
