20 Upcoming Games That COULD Be Better Than GTA VI
18. Mass Effect 5
Even accepting that Mass Effect 3's ending left many fans disappointed and Mass Effect: Andromeda was considered a lackluster attempt to soft-reboot the series, there's still a whole lot of love for the sci-fi RPG franchise and developer BioWare.
And so, there's plenty of optimism that Mass Effect 5 will mark a major return to form for both, especially with the game returning to the Epic Games Unreal Engine used to develop the original trilogy and many key team members from the first three games returning to work on it.
Story-wise we know little about the fifth game, except that it's set hundreds of years after Mass Effect 3 and Liara T'Soni is confirmed to appear.
Almost six years on from the game's announcement we've heard barely a peep from BioWare, who insist they're simply hard at work on the sequel.
While there's enormous pressure for the studio to bring the franchise back to its early greatness, hopefully the lengthy development period is a promising sign they're taking the time to get it right.
