4. Overwatch Rush
On one hand it's genuinely surprising that it's taken a full decade for Overwatch to get a spin-off game of any kind, but in a classic case of being careful what you wish for, the reveal of Overwatch Rush ultimately left many fans scratching their heads.
The game is a 4v4 mobile-exclusive, free-to-play take on Overwatch which translates the core gameplay to a top-down perspective.
Now in fairness, Rush doesn't look terrible by any means, but with the general skepticism around mobile-only spin-offs and Blizzard's own dire recent history there with the infamous Diablo Immortal, it's probably sensible to approach this one with some healthy doubts.
After all, does anyone genuinely believe Blizzard will take a remotely sensible approach to monetising the game?
There are some interesting and exciting ways to expand the Overwatch franchise, but this just isn't one of them.
It looks fine, but that just isn't enough when there are so many great games competing for our eyeballs nowadays.
