20 Upcoming Video Games Absolutely NOBODY Wants
3. Horizon Hunters Gathering
Though the Horizon franchise is absolutely ripe for the spin-off treatment, Horizon Hunters Gathering is the exact opposite of what most fans want to see.
A co-op, Monster Hunter-esque Horizon game in which players hunt machines sounds pretty great on paper, but the enterprise is immediately sunk by its ill-fittingly cartoonish, Fortnite-coded art style.
If not ugly, it's at least immensely cheap-looking, feeling at odds with the mainline series' vibrant post-apocalyptic aesthetic.
By comparison this looks generic at best, and less charitably, like it's desperately trying to ride Fortnite's coattails.
That's without even getting into the live-service of it all, and with Sony's live-service push so far bearing little worthwhile fruit, why would anyone have much faith in this?
All in all this is about the least-interesting direction a Horizon spin-off could go, at which point you couldn't be blamed for wanting Guerrilla to just crack on with a sequel to 2022's Horizon Forbidden West.
