20 Upcoming Video Games Absolutely NOBODY Wants
2. Beyond Good & Evil 2
Now in fairness, there was absolutely a time when many people wanted to get their hands on a sequel to Ubisoft's cult action-adventure game Beyond Good & Evil, but that time was almost a full decade ago.
Though the 2003 original is a cult game that's never really grown its audience much beyond the initial fanbase, the sequel's re-reveal in 2017 turned a lot of heads even with many who've never played the original.
Ubisoft's gameplay reveal promised an ambitious AAA open-world sequel, but the game has since slid into development hell, causing just about all excitement for the sequel to evaporate in the process.
Simply put, nobody believes that Ubisoft is capable of delivering even a fraction of the game's originally teased epic, co-op multiplayer space opera.
In 2022, Beyond Good and Evil 2 surpassed Duke Nukem Forever as the longest-developed AAA game in history, which combined with the departure of original director Michel Ancel and death of his successor Emile Morel, basically paints this as a doomed project the world has long since lost interest in.
