20 Upcoming Video Games Absolutely NOBODY Wants

18. Deus Ex Remastered

Deux Ex Remastered
Aspyr

Deus Ex is one of the most acclaimed video games of all time, and so in theory the prospect of a remaster is a hugely exciting one. And it was, until Aspyr showed off a single second of gameplay.

Deus Ex Remastered was revealed last September and immediately criticised for its new art style, which many felt stripped away the dingy, noir-splashed aesthetic of the original game, instead over-lighting the environments and making everything look a bit too sterile and shiny.

The situation was dire enough that even Deus Ex's original art director Jerry O’Flaherty chimed in to voice his own displeasure with the remaster.

In December, this led Aspyr to announce that the remaster had been delayed from its original February 2026 release date to address the issues, and as is never an encouraging sign, pre-orders were also being refunded.

While it's entirely possible that Aspyr whips Deus Ex Remastered into shape, ultimately the original game is still so supremely playable and its original visuals such an inherent part of its overall vibe, that many fans are perfectly fine with this remaster just... not happening.
