20 Video Game Enemies Designed To RUIN Your Day
7. Hunters - Resident Evil Series
There's certainly no shortage of evil beasties in the Resident Evil series that can make a player soil their trousers at a moments notice, but perhaps the most fearsome and genuinely infuriating of the bunch is the Hunters.
Making their debut back in the original Resident Evil, these lizard-gorilla hybrids appear in the game's second half, suddenly ambushing players when they return to the Spencer Mansion after braving the horrors of the courtyard and the guard house. Upon re-entering the west corridor, a cut-scene suddenly kicks in showing the point-of-view of something fast making its way through all of the rooms you've just been through, before a large green hand reaches out for the door you've just entered.
Before you've even got time to think, you're set upon by the Hunter, and they're fast. Very fast.
The tank controls of old definitely don't help as the Hunters can move much quicker than you and one swipe from their claws can knock you down several health statuses. Players are encouraged to remain stationery and blast them down from a distance with the shotgun, or one-shot them with the bazooka should you be playing as Jill.
Even with that added advantage though, these guys can give you to that game over screen quicker than any other enemy in the game.
