Baldur’s Gate 3’s narrative is spread across three acts, and specific locations stop being accessible after you reach the next act. However, you’re still free to explore every location to your heart’s content until you feel ready to move on to the next part of the story.

There is one exception to this rule. A location in Act 3 you only visit once, and if you die in it, you will never find a way back.

Inside the circus in Rivington, you can attempt a wheel game run by a shady djinni called Akabi. If you catch Akabi cheating and then steal the ring that he uses to manipulate the wheel, the djinn will spitefully grant you your "grand prize" by teleporting your character to a jungle filled with ravenous dinosaurs.

Although this is meant to be a punishment, Akabi’s prize is actually a one-of-a-kind opportunity, as the jungle contains two magic items, the legendary trident Nyrulna and the Band of the Mystic Scoundrel.

The problem is that Akabi only sends one character to the jungle, and since there is no teleportation rune there, if you die to the dinosaurs, you won’t get the chance to grab the amazing gear hidden inside.
