2. Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)
Being labelled as the lowest point in the Sonic franchise is worse than being called the ugly duckling's even uglier best friend, as this series is arguably known for its lows more than its highs. But, oh boy, there's no arguing for it when it comes to the universally despised Sonic The Hedgehog 2006, as this game is worse than trash and easily ranks as the SEGA mascot's biggest trainwreck.
Sonic '06 has developed a reputation for many things, none of which are good. First and foremost is the overly convoluted story, featuring time travel, a narrative-breaking ending, and a romance between the titular Sonic and a human princess. Who the hell is out there wishing for a romance between a human woman and a blue hedgehog?
On top of the ridiculous story choices, it's also a completely broken game, full of dragging loading times, a multitude of bugs, an atrocious camera that's impossible to control, and more. Sonic fans have been through a lot and have forgiven many disasters, but forgiving this game was too much to ask.
