14. The Entity - Dead By Daylight
Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer game where you play as either a group of survivors or a killer hot on their trail.
If you’re a survivor, your goal is to outsmart the killer and find a way of escaping the map. If you’re the killer, you have to eliminate all survivors before they flee. However, no matter which side of this conflict wins, the real victor, spoiler alert, is neither the victims nor their pursuer.
It is actually the Entity.
The Entity is the overarching villain of the Dead By Daylight story that is responsible for the game of mouse and cat that both sides of the game seem to be perpetually trapped in.
No one in the Dead By Daylight universe knows what the Entity is. However, what is known is that it deliberately enters other worlds and then traps random people and killers inside of its own dimension so that it can slowly drain them of their life force, feeding off their fears and bloodlust alike.
That’s why even though it may seem like the killers or the survivors are the winners of individual matches, lorewise, each game is just another victory of the Entity, which slowly consumes its victims until they all fade away into nothingness.
