5. The Tiny Villages - The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

With countless developers working tirelessly on Breath of the Wild over a period of six years, you can bet there was a multitude of ideas that were concocted but never completed. Luckily, some of the abandoned content managed to see the light of day since they were eventually added to the DLC, including The Master Trials and The Champions Ballad.

However, one idea that didn't see it through was a race of tiny people, reminiscent of the Minish from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. These miniature beings would have inhabited small towns scattered across the land of Hyrule. Due to their petite size, Link could only access these areas by shrinking down to their level.

Even though the director, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, found the idea appealing, it was difficult to find a logical way for these diminutive creatures to fit into Breath of the Wild's structure (which feels weird since Nintendo didn't have any qualms with giving Link his own motorcycle).

Despite the fact the sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, offered even more innovative ideas and unique characters, the Minish-like race were still nowhere to be seen.
