20 Video Games With Cut Content That Change EVERYTHING

13. The White House - Deus Ex

Breath of the Wild Minish
Ion Storm

Ion Storm's futuristic title, Deus Ex, was considered ahead of its time, due its genre-bending gameplay, branching narratives, and complex themes involving transhumanism and AI.

And yet, there were a few ideas deemed too ambitious to make the cut. In early development, JC Denton was going to conduct missions in the White House, Russia, and onboard a space station. Though the last two were scrapped early in development, a demo build of the White House was completed, giving players a reasonable understanding how this section would've played out.

Denton would venture to the White House to rescue President Mead's daughter and confront major antagonist, Walton Simons. The mission aimed to tie together earlier events, such as the New York and Paris missions, by revealing Mead had been replaced by a clone under Illuminati control.

Even though The White House was among the first areas developed, it was removed due to speed issues.

This one is so sought after by some fans that The White House can be accessed in the fan-made mod, Deus Ex Nihilum, (although, of course, it plays out differently than how the original game proposed).
