2018's Biggest Video Game Protagonists - Ranked From Worst To Best

11. Leo/Vincent (A Way Out)

A Way Out
EA

Josef Fares' A Way Out is a deeply flawed yet highly entertaining cinematic co-op action-adventure game, centred on two convicts, Vincent and Leo, as they attempt to escape their imprisonment.

Fares' game is more rife with prison movie cliches than he will likely ever be prepared to admit, and this certainly transpires through to the characters themselves.

Leo is your typical hothead, bearing an uncanny resemblance to a young Sean Penn and inevitably making the escape tougher than it has to be, while Vincent is the smarter and more reined-in of the two.

It's a classic buddy movie team-up, and as anyone who's finished the game will know, players are forced to make some tough decisions in the final sequence of the game.

Leo and Vincent may be walking, talking cliches, but they're at least fun to play, and undeniably elevated by the game's commitment to couch co-op.
