24 Greatest Video Game Moments Of The 2000s

9. This Quick-Time Event - God Of War II

Sometimes, you've just got to mash a dude's head in a doorframe y'know? At least, you do if you're the family-slaying, revenge-happy Greek-slaughtering powerhouse himself, Kratos. Birthed from the perfectly demented mind of Twisted Metal's David Jaffe, the God of War franchise has tried to top itself in terms of gore-soaked spectacle through every sequel. However, there's one moment in the second game where - after having laboriously journeying across a huge number of puzzle-filled areas - you get your hands on Theseus, someone you're more than happy to enact all those frustrations out on. Cue one of the best quick-time events of all time - from before they were used in absolutely everything to boot - as you literally just get to wail on the button and watch Kratos thwack the living bejesus out of the poor bloke's head.
