7. Phantasy Star IV: End Of The Millenium

The 90's was a stellar time for RPGs. Everyone always talks about the SNES having so many good RPGs like Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger, but if you delve into the Mega Drive's library, you'll find some absolute gems which don't get as much reverence as these legendary titles.

One such example is Phantasy Star IV. Although originally not that well received by critics, over the years gamers have come to love this title, and it regularly places highest on lists of gamers' favourite Phantasy star titles.

Like other games in the Phantasy Star series, IV includes turn-based combat and a traditional, top-down RPG world to explore. Where it stands out is its fantastic science fiction setting, with the ability to fly a spaceship to multiple planets, androids as characters and much, much more.

Amazingly, Phantasy Star IV even includes the ability to set macros for your characters! Sick of making everyone press attack, one after the other? No problem - simply set up a macro that orders everyone to attack and its all done for you.

If you've been looking for a classic, 16-bit RPG that isn't Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy, this is one you should be strongly considering playing.
