3 Things Football Manager 2014 Could Add For Further Realism

1. Begin Your Career As An Assistant Manager

This one probably won€™t be too popular and I can understand why, the game isn€™t called €œFootball Assistant Manager€ for a reason. However, it€™s a career path that some managers take. They begin as assistants and then make the step up to full manager. You could begin your tenure as Assistant Manager by supplying only the tactics and training schedules for the first team, as well as suggesting team sheets if the manager asks it of you, whilst taking total control of the reserve team. It€™d be a bit frustrating having little control over the actual ins and outs of the first team in terms of transfers and reserve teams aren€™t the most exciting to be in control of considering the limited options but it€™d be realistic. If you do well enough as an assistant, you can either take over as the full manager when the current manager either quits or is fired, or you can hope that a team in a lower division will give you the chance as a first team manager. Again, I expect a lot of people to be unconvinced but I€™d personally find it pretty interesting to do. One to think about, at least! Not a very comprehensive list admittedly, though that is testament to the levels of realism the Football Manager games have already achieved. Is there anything else you'd want to see in the upcoming games? Let us know!
