30 Best Video Games Of All Time
29. Titanfall 2
From one end of the action spectrum to another - yet retaining the passion of a developer looking to prove themselves - Titanfall 2 was the second game from Respawn Entertainment; the studio formed from the ashes of Infinity Ward after Jason West and Vince Zampella vacated in 2010.
West and Zampella were dually responsible for the phenomenal Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and though the first Titanfall forwent a campaign to deliver a barebones (yet still enjoyable) multiplayer component, Titanfall 2 knocks that original vision out the park.
Now we have one of the best single-player FPS campaigns of all time - literally the result of West and Zampella thinking of every possible 'cool set-piece' and idea, before tying them all together - and the perfect realisation of that more 'locomotive' movement style Call of Duty tried and failed to implement between 2014 and 2016.
At any given time you'll be sprinting along walls, sliding across the ground, using a grapple to Spider-Man swing your way across the map, delivering thunderous melee attacks and summoning your Titan mech for bonus abilities. Combine everything and fire it through a frame rate that holds up no matter how hectic the action gets, and you have the best modern FPS on the market that remains criminally underplayed.
