2. Fable: The Journey

The Game: Set 30 years after the events of Fable 3, the new Fable: The Journey (F:TJ) is already being called "
the biggest game we've ever made" by Lion's Head Studios. It will be a totally new experience, apparently, as F:TJ will be designed as a first person kinect-based game with no option to use traditional combat or traditional control.
Why You Should Be Annoyed: I may be a bit biased on this one, because I personally don't like to exercise while I'm playing games, but screw a game that is based on holding your hands up in front of you for long periods of time. Lion's Head has made a gigantic deal about how large the actual game world is. They've mentioned it every time they get the chance. They've also mentioned that the world is big for one reason, and one reason only, to have an excuse to ride your horse around. So, not big because they had a lot to fill the world with, big because they wanted you to ride the horse instead of walking. And how does one ride a horse in a kinect-based game? Oh simple, you hold your hands in front of you as if you were holding the reins. So recap, game development has focused on giving you an excuse to sit in your chair with your hands outstretched in front of you for extended periods of time, for the sole purpose of having an excuse to make you like your horse. And make no mistake, that is where this game is going. The non-public demo released already featured sections attempting to form a relationship with your kindly horse. Of course, if you remember the characters from the previous Fable games, you might find the horse to be an improvement.
