5. Captain Price Call of Duty Modern Warfare Series
*SPOILERS* First things first, that moustache has to be one of the greatest facial growths since Dr Robotnik lost his razors and forgot to get some more. This cockney leader of men is about as sly as they come. Ruthless and brutal in combat, he is a surprisingly warm character that grows into a sort of cigar smoking father figure who gets you through the really rough bits of the series. Oh and then he turns renegade and all hell breaks loose in the third one and he kicks the crap out of anyone who stands in his waywith your help obviously.
4. Morrigan Dragon Age Origins
What can we say about Morrigan? Well, she is probably the best NPC in the whole game. Fact! She questions your leadership and if you do something nice for someone with her in the team, you almost always lose approval points. Politely she could be described as pragmatic we suppose. If you take the romance option with Morrigan she also gets super-clingy (and creepy) tooah, sweet. Every line of dialogue is classic, she delights in tormenting that whinging little bitch Alistair and kicks some serious Darkspawn ass. If thats not enough for you, then her mum is only Captain freaking Janeway from Voyager! Now that is one scary mother in law prospect, not that we are insinuating that we would marry a video game character or that we have a Morrigan shrine in our basementshut up precious, too much detail.
3. Catalina Grand Theft Auto 3 and San Andreas
*SPOILERS* as if you havent played these Possibly the best character to come out of the GTA franchise is manipulative, controlling nut-job Catalina the woman who ends up running the Cartel in GTA 3. Forces CJ into a relationship with her, inflicts sadomasochist sex on him and then runs off with the mute guy from GTA 3, dropping the occasional phone call to CJ, whilst boning her new man. Eventually she shoots that guy (Im an ambitious girl, and youre just small time good to see she has a proper rationale for her actions at least) so that he can take the fall for a bank robbery that sets the scene for GTA 3. Nutter! Brilliant nutter!
2. The Joker Batman Arkham Asylum/Arkham City
Mark Hamill reprises the role of the Joker for the two latest Batman games and he is awesome. The insane laughter and brilliant cutting jibes and the fantastic way that he out foxes his nemesis time and again, make him one of the best characters ever introduced into the world of gaming. (We are ignoring all previous Batman titles because they were pretty much elephant-dung) The Joker seems to have that way of getting people to follow him, basically like a criminal Jesus offering salvation and redemption (except not a nice kind of either) to all those lifers who have a bone to pick with a certain Bat!
