3. Goldeneye 007

While modern FPS gaming has become something of a drag in recent years, mentioning Goldeneye 007 to any 90's gamer will always be met with a misty eyed flashback to a simpler time, sitting down with 3 other mates and annihilating one another was abosloute bliss on a rainy day, and this monster title cannot be praised enough. Although it wasn't the first FPS to hit out screens (Wolfenstein and Doom being its predescessors) it was the first realistic shooter of its time to make a big impact on console gaming, paving the way for the powerhouse shoot-em-ups that dominate todays market, with multiplayer being a driving factor behind the games massive sales (over 8 million copies being sold) the campaign seemed to take a backseat however it could not be accused of lacking, with a wide array of weapons at your disposal, and an amazing soundtrack lifted straight from the movie, Goldeneye 007 is a piece of gaming history. Whether it should be thanked or blamed for the incline of games such as "Call of battle 21: The Russians are still the bad-guys" is a whole other topic.
