5 Video Game Characters Who Really Deserve A Holiday

1. Joel And Ellie (The Last of Us)

The Last Of Us Never has there been anyone more deserving of a holiday than Joel and Ellie from the spectacularly dreary The Last of Us. They find themselves having to take a trip across a post-apocalyptic America, filled with dangerous mushroom-mutated zombies and even more dangerous humans. Joel is a man who has grown into this world, surviving the initial outbreak with his daughter only to see her be killed by a US soldier. 20 years later, he is a scavenger just trying to get enough food and water to survive while working for some fairly dangerous people. Ellie is a young girl who never knew the real world and doesn't even talk about her parents anymore. Through all this, the duo are shoved together as Joel is tasked with delivering Ellie to a hospital across the country, with a hope of finally finding a cure. Joel and Ellie are never really allowed happiness, and if they are it is foreshadowing for one of them getting shot at or beaten in the minutes to come. Even the ending to the game is stooped in moral ambiguities and dreadful consequences. Joel and Ellie deserve to get the hell out of Dodge for a while, and they need the exact opposite of what they have experienced. They need to spend a week in somewhere so sickly sweet that returning to the horrors of America will almost be a relief. Recommended Holiday Destination: Animal Crossing
