5 Weirdest Endings In Tekken Video Games

4. Kuma (II) - Tekken 5

Kuma has been a staple of the Tekken series since the original game, although the original Kuma was swapped out for his son in Tekken 3 onwards. These bears serve as bodyguards to Heihachi Mishima, and have displayed the ability to master skills such as sign-language and martial arts. Kuma II followed in his father’s footsteps by protecting the head of the Mishima Zaibatsu, although every now and again he will get distracted by his love for the series’ other bear, Panda.

In Tekken 5, once you’ve beaten the Arcade mode, Kuma is promoted to head of the Mishima Zaibatsu. In his ending, we see the bear sitting at his desk, and signing off on documents with an inked pawprint. He’s interrupted by his butler, Lee, who informs him that his former master is here to see him.

Heihachi enters and thanks Kuma for looking after his company in his absence. Kuma, clearly nonplussed with this attempted takeover, presses the big red button on his desk which opens a trapdoor underneath Heihachi, and sends him hurtling into the abyss. As he’s just about to enjoy a raw fish dinner, Heihachi manages to clamber back up and press the giant blue button on Kuma’s desk, which drops him, his chair and his fish down their own bottomless pit.

Okay, why does Kuma have a trapdoor underneath himself? The bear’s got superior intellect apparently, but absolutely no foresight. Did he not think of the paws-ability that having an identical trap that could be used on him was a bad idea? Okay, I’ll stop. That one was bear-ly funny anyway…
