6 Resident Evil Games Capcom Should Remake After Resident Evil 4

2. Resident Evil: Outbreak

Remake Resident Evil Code Veronica
Capcom

We have seen with Umbrella Corps, Resistance, and the upcoming RE:Verse that Capcom are desperate to deliver a Resident Evil multiplayer experience. Has it worked out? Not really.

Resident Evil 3 and Resistance launched in 2020 and has already become unsupported and RE:Verse has been continually delayed despite being announced to come with Village and you can even consult the like/dislike ratio on the teaser trailer to get an idea of what the fans thoughts are. Umbrella Corps, well it's best we don't discuss that here.

How can Capcom remedy their multiplayer issue? By again revisiting a PS2-era title of theirs.

Resident Evil Outbreak Files 1 & 2 took the player away from the super-cop S.T.A.R.S. team and put them in charge of civilians and on-the-beat officers during the Raccoon City outbreak. And despite having some hitches that you come to expect from a PS2 title, it was a challenging and fun experience and furthermore a nice change in tempo for the series.

More importantly, Outbreak was a multiplayer title. It makes too much sense to take the play-style of Resistance and merge it with Outbreak, for Capcom not to consider it. Just imagine jumping on with your mates to take on the undead elephant at the zoo.
