Art Of War: Red Tides is a C&C style RTS with a MOBA-twist. There are no bases. Once your troops die, there's no rebuilding.

Instead, you select your army from the start, carefully choosing from about 40 different troop options from each of the 3 available races. As the Commander of these troops, the player is then tasked with destroying the enemies 3 towers, whilst simultaneously defending their own. The game starts with so many troops on the battlefield, with more entering the field as the battle rages onwards.

As troops kill enemies and destroy enemy towers, the army earns gold which allows the Commander to utilise certain race-specific abilities that can enhance their troops or stifle the enemy.

In many ways, Art Of War: Red Tides is a simplified version of legendary RTS games such as StarCraft or Red Alert, but once the player has familiarised themselves with the basics, the learning curve swerves rapidly upwards as Commanders need to manage their troops with care and strategy in order to be victorious.

The game is graphically lush and incredibly addictive for such a relatively low-spec game. Art Of War: Red Tides is free on Steam whilst it is in Beta testing, to give it a go now before it joins the ranks of the 'pay to play'.
