4. Grim Fandango (PC)
One of the last great point and click adventure games, Grim Fandango was something of a brilliant swansong for the genre. A film-noir inspired story set in the Mexican land of the dead, Grim Fandango was just dripping with atmosphere and black humour. Although it was a huge critical success, sales were disappointing and merely hastened LucasArts retiring its work on adventure games to pursue other avenues. However, many of the classic LucasArts adventure games have enjoyed a new lease of life on iOS platforms, where the touchscreen controls are a natural replacement for a cursor. With its touchscreen controller and HD screen, many see the WiiU as the natural home for point and click adventures. Nintendo could make a lot of people very happy if they decided to revamp some of the classic LucasArts adventures for their new console. If that happens then Grim Fandango deserves another run-out, to give it a chance at the success it deserves, and maybe even a shot at bringing the genre back from the dead.
