7 Hotly Anticipated Video Games We Can't Wait To Play (November 2015)

4. Rise Of The Tomb Raider (Xbox One, Xbox 360)

The sequel to Lara Croft's hotly debated reboot is just around the corner, and looks set to bring back many of the series' hallmarks that many thought were missing in the 2013 game. As well as looking absolutely spectacular, with a dynamic weather system and day-night cycle, Rise of the Tomb Raider reinstates some of that brain-racking puzzle-solving that made the early games in the series legendary. Playing the demo at EGX 2015, I found myself genuinely, embarrassingly stuck on a puzzle to the point that I needed assistance. And that felt good, purely because of the fact that it was a gameplay challenge, rather than just a pretty digital movie in which you occasionally have to press something. The other mechanics in the demo felt solid, with a small amount of quick-time events, decent platforming elements, and fine gunplay. If these elements combine with the excellent storytelling established in the last game, then this should be a worthy addition to the Tomb Raider canon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh5Du5dKhgI
