7 Main Take-Aways About Anthem From EA's E3 Conference
1. They're Leaving Room For DLC
The developers made sure to talk about how they wanted the world to be able to constantly expand and change, so players could keep on exploring it and discovering new things.
They didn't say the letters D, L or C, but this was what was implied. It seems that Bioware plan to support the game for several years after release, and since they're making sure it doesn't overtly seem like an MMO they likely won't support it in a purely multiplayer way, like GTA V or Destiny.
Instead, they'll likely add DLC over the years after release. Since this is a new IP from Bioware, they've definitely got avenues to explore in terms of the world and the lore, and in general DLC from Bioware has nearly always been well received.
The developers also mentioned how loot boxes would be absent from the game - paid cosmetics are still in, but there is no way to pay to get ahead in the games.
There's a lot we still don't know about the game, but Anthem is shaping up to be a pretty fun new game from a proven developer.
