7 PS4 Games To Consider Before Committing To A Console

6. Killzone: Shadow Fall

gsm_169_killzone_shadow_fall_announce_trailer_ps4_022013a_t5_640 Since I was largely an Xbox 360 gamer during the last generation, Killzone never really penetrated my game library. But even during my PlayStation 2 days, the first games never really caught my attention either. Something about the dirt-filled sci-fi first person shooter where you fight Nazi-equivalents just never captured my imagination. The franchise has always been a solid performer but never seemed to catch fire in a way that it could. Shadow Fall could however turn out to be a massive hit for the system as it is likely to be the biggest exclusive on the console at launch. While the console is launching with a load of third party games, the PlayStation 4 has only a handful of games on day one that won't be on the Xbox One. It is a shame as we all like to see a ton of great exclusives on launch but it is entirely likely that Killzone: Shadow Fall will reap the rewards. The exclusivity surely won't hurt its reputation with PlayStation 4 buyers and it could really make the leap to super-franchise in its first few months. What I saw of Killzone: Shadow Fall at E3, it was certainly pretty but due to time constraints I never actually got to get my hands on it. However, it is merely building on the Killzone experience and furthering the universe of the previous games. There doesn't seem to be any reinvention of the wheel, but why should there be? If you like the Killzone franchise, it will be a no brainer and you don't need a guy on the internet who admits to not having played a whole lot telling you otherwise. However, I am interested to see how the game lands with new fans and Xbox converts. That is the audience that the game is likely going to need to make e leap. At the moment, it is hard to say if it will actually be an essential title for them, even if it easily could be. I know a bunch of people expecting big things from a new, next-gen Killzone experience.
