7 Reasons Bloodborne Is The Game Of The Generation
2. The Old Hunters DLC
As if the base game wasn't enough, FromSoft outdid themselves with the Old Hunters DLC. With some of the most memorable bosses and locations of the entire game, the DLC is worth every penny paid. New foes, environments, weapons - it's a whole game in itself, and it is stunning.
While the horrifying scream of the Orphan is no doubt burned into every gamer's brain who had the misfortune of dying over and over to this absolute beast of a boss, it is Lady Maria who stands out to me.
One of the best designed bosses in all of gaming, let alone Bloodborne, Lady Maria is a brilliant example of how to balance difficulty with enjoyment. You will die over and over, but you just want to get right back in there and give it another go.
And her story? Lady Maria's story is gut-wrenchingly well crafted. A true standout in a DLC of constantly brilliant moments.
A special mention must also go to the Fishing Hamlet; the most ludicrously Lovecraftian location in the whole game.
Giant hook wielding whale sharks anyone? Yes, please.
