3. Pokémon Powers

Yet another awesome aspect of these games are the many different types that Pokémon can be. We started out with fifteen before generation two introduced two more. We went quite some time without seeing any new types until the newest generation gave us the fairy type with a new total of eighteen. With these types also come a variety of cool powers including breathing fire, shooting energy beams, and creating blizzards. While there are many animals that are poisonous and even some that can shoot water from their mouths they in no way resemble the outstanding abilities Pokémon possess. How many creatures do you know of that can utilize telekinesis or teleport? What about some that can create earthquakes, tidal waves, or lightning storms? No? Well, duh! Though Pokémon are often based on real-world creatures such as mice, birds, and fish they're given such amazing qualities that they really can't be compared to their real life counterparts. There are even dragon and humanoid Pokémon which certainly couldn't exist in the real world. And with that statement we're led into our next point.
