6. There Is A Need For A Greater Online Community
Tennis games fill a relatively small niche compared to football and the Fifa crowd. So with three games competing fairly solidly right now, that niche is made even smaller as we each invest in the game that appeals to us the most. This significantly diminishes the online availability of players to play against each other. One of the most addictive features of sports games is the competition. Yet it is an increasingly difficult task to find any online adversaries to compete with. This is frustrating for two reasons. Firstly, how can we explore the online features of each game if there is no one to play with online? Part of the reason we buy a game is so we can use every feature and not have a part of it cordoned off by lack of availability. To fully enjoy every aspect of the game, it is dependent on a relatively sizeable online community to experience this with. Secondly, for those of us who are achievement hunters, how can we complete the game when we can't get the achievements that require us to compete online? It leaves us feeling like the game is unfinishable and is highly unsatisfying. If there was one outstanding game that united us all, we would all be playing in the same online community and, obviously, would therefore be able to find more online action.
