2. The NX Is Bringing With It A Huge Slew Of Games
When you think about it, Nintndo is extremely fortunate that its appearance at E3 2016 went as well as it did. Going in, the company confirmed that it would have practically nothing to show but The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, and that was basically true.
While a few other titles were touched on (the upcoming Pokemon games for the 3DS, for example), most were small, low-effort games that are likely to released with little fanfare (again, Pokemon being the exception).
Nintendo managed to get away with this because Breath Of The Wild completely dominated and fascinated the show, but it sent a very clear message about the future.
The Wii U is all but officially dead. Everything notable has shifted development to the NX. Even the worst Nintendo E3 conferences have one or two surprises, reveals of notable home console offerings. There have been so few games on the Wii U in recent years that E3 2016 would have been the natural time to unveil them if they were coming. But they aren't: they're all on their way to the NX.
