7 Upcoming Licensed Video Games To Get Excited About
6. Untitled Avatar Game
Back in 2017, Ubisoft announced a game that ties into the Avatar film franchise, and that it will be made by Massive Entertainment (The Division series).
The publisher did already have a shot at doing an Avatar game, with James Cameron's Avatar: The Game, that coincided with the first film's release in 2009. While that game had an impressive looking open-world, full of authentic detail, the mission structure grew stale quickly due to a rushed production.
Massive is an excellent choice to remedy that flaw though, they've got experience in creating addictive open-world games, with a handle on mission variety and tense action.
On the other hand, The Division series had a fairly bland world, something that the painstaking design of Cameron's film world (that has even expanded for the upcoming sequels) will give a wealth of material to work with.
It looks like the studio and material will do a good job of accompanying each other, and this won't be another movie rush job, as Ubisoft has let them delay the game into 2022, to make sure they get it just right.
