7 Ups & 6 Downs From E3 2019
1. Every Part Of The Nintendo Direct
So, Nintendo won E3. Across their hour-long Direct, the company gave pretty much everyone who owns a Switch a reason to be excited about the future. Of course, it's the first-party announcements that will capture all the headlines, with the bombshell that a sequel to Breath of the Wild is in development stealing the thunder of any other publisher who showed up at the event, but even the smaller titles unveiled got the heart pumping.
A new Olympic Games in time for Tokyo 2020 was a surprising highlight (and the addition of skateboarding should only make the game even more fun), while ports of huge third-party titles like Resident Evil, The Witcher 3 and Minecraft Dungeons highlights just how far Nintendo have come from the days of burning bridges with all of their partners.
It was an outstanding showing, and in a lot of ways, saved the entire event.
